Would you like to work abroad but you are lacking skills or the experience of working in a skilled profession?
Although options for moving to certain countries is limited, there are lots of opportunities in a range of industries including seasonal work.
To work in Australia for example, you will need to work in a skilled industry that is in demand and therefore be eligible for a work visa. But other countries are more flexible.

1. Study
If you don’t like your current job, or don’t have the education or skilled to apply for a different pathway, no matter how old you are you can always go back into education and take a college or university course to start a new career.
2. Get Certifications
There are so many a courses you can take, either in-class or online which can help employment prospects. Some courses even offer a full time job offer on completion.
For example, you could take a TEFL certification and get qualified for teaching jobs abroad – this is a great way to live abroad.

• Taking a safari guide course – then being able to work as a tour guide in places like Africa!
• Ski instructor courses – train to become a ski instructor and work in some of the most spectacular locations on the planet
3. Be Realistic
It’s a dream for millions of people to live in places like Los Angeles, Dubai and London. If you focus more on more realistic destinations you will have a more clear idea of where you can go.
4. Intern
You can also use entry level jobs or internships as a stepping stone. Gaining work experience will boost your experience and help you to get a better position in the future.
5. Learn the Language
If you would like to work in a non-English speaking country you will really boost your chances of getting hired if you speak the language. This will also really help when it comes to integration. 6. Retrain
If you would like to work in a lot of countries you will need to get a job offer from a local employer who is willing to sponsor your visa and application. If you have a dream for example, to work in the USA, you will need to get a company to hire you. Make a list of jobs in demand, and retrain in that career which will then make you eligible for a visa.
7. Look in the Right Places

8. Volunteer Work
Volunteering abroad, although generally unpaid, is a great way to do something beneficial and also allow you to work in a different country usually without a visa. Some companies also hire in-country staff and coordinators, this can be a paid job in developing countries around the world.
9. Become a Tour Guide
Working as a tour guide is a great way to get paid to see the world. This career in unique, and unlike professional industries like business, banking and IT, you usually will need personality skills rather than formal qualifications.
10. Work Freelance or Get an Online Job
If you would to live abroad you could get create an apply for online positions. Lots of companies hire staff to work remotely especially in industries like IT. You could even start a business online, become a blogger or video content creator – this will allow you to work from anywhere in the world.
