The 26th of January is Australia Day, A national holiday in Aus, a time to celebrate our brothers and sisters Down Under, and the only reason to party in January.

If you want to celebrate Australia Day but have the misfortune of being stuck here in the UK, here are 5 easy ways to immerse yourself in the party atmosphere (you knows you might even forget you’re in the UK and feel like you’re on Bondi Beach! (Not likely? Ok then).

Step one towards bringing a bit of the Aussie sprit to your life this Sunday? Get down to pound land and grab a few Aussie flags for your house. Australia Day is all about Aussies being loud and proud of their heritage – so if you’re not Aussie, fake it ‘till you make it!

Stock up on goon bags for your Australia Day celebration – it’s the Aussie way. ‘Goon bags’ are Boxes of cheap wine packaged in heavy duty plastic bags, just don’t blame me for your hangover the next day. b
3. Stoke Up The Bbq
If you’re going to celebrate Australia day like a real Aussie you need a BBQ – whatever the weather. Shrimps, burgers, sausage, calamari, chicken – anything goes, just make sure it’s BBQ’ed.

If you’re in the UK and you want to celebrate Australia day, head to where the Aussies will be – Walkabout. It may not be particularly authentic but you can guarantee that on Sunday afternoon/evening Walkabouts across the country will be crammed full of drunken UK based Aussies, great fun.
