What is a decent salary in Bali to live comfortably?
Quote from jack on January 16, 2025, 10:22 amHi all,
I have an interview for a teaching job coming up in Bali. They are offering US$30,000. I have a lot of experience so I could possibly get quite a few thousand dollars more in other places like the Middle East but I like the idea of moving to Bali.
Is this a decent salary in Bali ? will I be able to live well and save some money with this salary ?
Many thanks,
Jack

If you are out in the night clubs 2-3 times a week - probably not. It depends a bit too on if your accommodation is provided for you. Is it? Overall, it is quite a good wage on the local economy, but it depends on how much you hook up with the local expatriate community which can vary from multi-multi-millionaires to surfers drifting through. You best bet would be to ask your potential employer to connect you with someone on the scene in a similar job in Bali with a similar wage.
