ASFE Expat insurance Reviews - Good or Bad?
Hello and happy 2014 to all,
I am an American living, studying, and working in France. (I am neither a student in a French university nor employed by a French entity, so I don't have access to Sécu.) I am considering enrolling in ASFE insurance (also MSH international), either under the Junior Expat plan or the First Expat plan, probably the latter. I am wondering if anyone has experience with this company, especially as a non-EU citizen in continental Europe. I'd be very interested in any reviews of either ASFE or companies that offer similar coverage.
In particular, I need fairly comprehensive health insurance that covers prescriptions (including ones that are "pre-existing"), and that also covers emergency repatriation to the US. The possibility of a dental option would be great. I am maintaining my US health insurance while abroad, but it doesn't cover much internationally aside from emergencies, and it doesn't cover repatriation which is necessary for visa purposes. From my research ASFE seems like the best fit, but I can't seem to find a lot of opinions about them.
